Business Analyst / Tester / QA Analyst – Healthcare industry – Medicaid

 

eScan Data Systems, Inc.  is a healthcare analytics software company located in downtown Austin, TX.   We seek a Data Analyst with a strong problem solving / reasoning skills. Applicant must be proficient in both SQL and Excel. Background in healthcare provider, healthcare payer policy and procedure, Medicaid, TRICARE, Medigap, Commercial Insurance, or hospital financial data analysis is ideal.

 

This position involves testing several products developed by eScan data systems including batch processes, reports, websites, etc. This position will develop standards for QA process, build and maintain requirement traceability matrix. The position may also involve building functional specification for new projects.

 

Technical Skills

 At least 5 years of experience as

 

Tester:

-       Experience developing / working test plans in an agile environment

-       Building and executing Test Cases, Test Data, Use cases.

-       Recording test results, documentation

-       Unit, Integration , Regression testing

-       Functional , System and Batch testing

-       Using case tracking tools, workflows

-       Website testing

-       Performance testing

-       Writing automated test scripts

-       Writing SQLs /Procedures to build data

-       Writing functional specifications.

-       Building flowcharts and Diagrams for system processes

-       Software development process, Quality Management Process

-       Test plans for different releases

 

Business Analyst:

-----------------------

-       Must have excellent hands on skills with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

-       Gathering and documenting business requirements

-       Build requirement traceability matrix. Applying the test results to RTM.

-       Strong scope identification and change control capabilities

-       Experienced with requirements gathering of Reports,  Website development, Batch Processing

 

 

Communication skills
Ability to:

-        integrate with Functional and Development teams

-        to interact professionally with internal and external customers as needed

-       to report to management on regular basis and escalate risks/issues effectively

-       Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills with the ability to effectively convey and understand complex subjects in team discussions.

Organizational skills and Coordination skills
Ability to:

-        Keep up with and prioritize a large number of outstanding projects.

-       Stay up to date in highly agile environment

-       Coordinate with the Developer and help problem solving

-       Manage time wisely, work efficiently and understand dependencies on assigned projects.

 

Other useful experience

 

-       Familiarity with hospital patient accounting systems, billing office, Revenue Cycle, Governmental Reimbursement processes, etc.

-       Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, Medigap, EDI, HIPAA, Commercial insurance rules, policy, etc

-       Debugging, Problem solving skills

-       Data Analysis

-       Past programming experience, SQL, ASP.NET, JavaScript, C#. C++

-       Familiarity  with 270 Eligibility inquiry and its 271 Eligibility response

-       Basic ETL knowledge is a plus.

-       Fluency with commonly used EDI concepts, practices and procedures within a heath care field is a plus

 

 

 

 

This full time position is located in Austin TX. Visa holders and project outsource options will not be considered.
